25.08.2016 11:26

The penultimate day of 14th LFF brings the final six competing films, new Coffee with the author, a film workshop and a case study of last year's winner of the festival – Naked Island.

Today's festival activities start at noon with another Coffee with the author taking place in Cafe bar Eugenian. The final children's workshop Ways in which film deceives us is also taking place today, led by Ana Hušman and Vanda Kreutz (the workshop is a part of Restart's First time filmmaker). Today's off program brings the case study of Naked Island, last year's festival winner of best film and best editing award. Director Tiha K. Gudac and editor Dragan von Petrović will be discussing this film success and challenges that the team came across during its development: from choosing the appropriate approach to the topic, technical elements that the film was built on, all through to the selected production model. The case study will be held as a part of the documentary afternoons in Villa Antonio and it starts at 6 PM. For those that missed the chance to see the film, we will be screening it at 4:30 PM at the same location.

Evening program starts at 8:30 PM at the Small summer stage. It will be opened by the world premiere of News from Laayoun, a film by Đuro Gavran, the old friend of our festival, who tells the story of African refugees whose main weapon in their pursuit of freedom is music. A Two Way Mirror directed by Katarina Zrinka Matijević, shows a personal search for inner peace displayed through images of Lika scenery. The second film slot which starts at 10:30 PM, starts with the last world premiere of this year's LFF, Irena's mirror, made by HRT director and editor Leon Rizmaul. Afterwards, we will be watching Right to Work: The Way We Left It by the youngest authors competing for this year's awards, Marica Lalić and Ivan Lasić. Katarina Radetić is also joining us tonight with a portrait of a „one man band“ from Pula – Cile, while the competition will be closed with the entertaining Tourism! By Tonči Gaćina, author who just got an award for best young filmmaker at 15th DokuFest (Prizen, Kosovo).

By now, it is a well-known information that our after party will take place at Cafe bar Eugenian, the official festival hangout spot. What you maybe didn't know is that we will be listening "Időjárás férfiak“, a summer program of ‘Art Velvet’ radio show edited by Dino Grgurić.
