Do they need a special introduction?

Pips, chips and video clips are a unique phenomenon on the Croatian music scene; stylistically diverse, thematically provocative and visually attractive, they are a true example of a modern pop band. This band’s great upcoming career could be sensed from their first public appearance, in 1992, when their cover single, the football chant Dinamojavolim (based on the traditional You’ll Never Walk Alone), broke all records and became the greatest hit of the year.

The band came a long way from a funny football chant – a way that took them over seven albums and five singles all to the outstanding last album Walt (2013). In the meantime, on 10 April 2012, they celebrated their 20th birthday.

Date: Saturday, 30th August
Location: Ičići port
Free admission!

Of Walt, the media wrote: “The Pips made a 21st century rock masterpiece” (A. Dragaš, Jutarnji list); “Ripper’s comeback: An album smelling of the glory-days Pips – the album Walt is the most probable candidate for the Croatian album of the year and prospective competitors will have to make an incredible effort if they wish to surpass Ripper in such a good mood” (I. Čulić, 24 sata). And indeed, Walt won six Porin nominations, won the best rock album award, and critics unanimously called it one of the most significant records in 2013.

They recently released Akustični Walt, the latest DVD edition, with acoustic live versions of all the songs from the last year’s acclaimed album.

The LFF performance will be a unique chance for all the fans of this band; for the first time at Liburnia they will be able to hear the latest songs and once again confirm that the Pips are truly a unique phenomenon in Croatia.
