ABOUT THE MOVIE
The non-narrative film serves as a poetic reflection on the process of construction, free of chronological structure and description. It explores the boundary between documentation and artistic expression, between the physical act of building and its symbolic echo. Consequently, the film does not present the bridge as a finished object, but rather as a process—as a living form that continuously emerges before the viewer's gaze, simultaneously physical and almost abstract.
Darko Škrobonja
Darko Škrobonja is a multimedia artist working across film, video, photography, and contemporary visual arts. He holds an MA in Media Arts (2016) from the Arts Academy, University of Split, Department of Film and Video, where he studied under the mentorship of Prof. Sandra Sterle. During his studies, he was awarded a scholarship to the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK Braunschweig), Germany, where he studied with Prof. Corinna Schnitt and Prof. Candice Breitz.
He is a member of the Croatian Association of Visual Artists – Split (HULU Split) and the Croatian Freelance Artists' Association (HZSU). His professional practice encompasses work as an author, director of photography, cinematographer, cameraman, and still photographer on short and feature-length fiction and documentary films, reality television productions, and commercial projects. He also works in theatre and opera as a video designer, collaborating with the Croatian National Theatre in Split.
Since 2021, he has been working as a lecturer at the Arts Academy, University of Split. Since 2026, he has also been teaching at the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University in Split. Alongside his academic work, he has been mentoring film workshops organized by the Dalmatia Film Festival and the Marko Marulić Library in Split since 2021.
His artistic work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Croatia.
