Night... shift, story, street. This is a short, experimental documentary about street cleaners in Zagreb in form of a densely packed photo essay (consisting of 887 photos) that adopts stop-motion animation for creating a timeline. The high-pressure street cleaners are presented in their two typical sceneries: in the city that is loud but empty, and in the spaces of the company's premises that are full but silent, like the filling department or the cloakroom. The repetitive, highly aestheticized frames depicting pressure-washing, in contrast with the unexpected, unsilenced, dark tone, introduce the long-familiar, everyday traits of the street cleaners. The ending is nothing but a mere intentional oversight based on the impression that the work of a street cleaner is never finished, but only put on hold until the following night.
