ABOUT THE MOVIE
This short documentary intimately follows Mr. Nel, the last in a family line of craftsmen, who inherited his trade from his father and now carefully preserves and develops it further. His workshop, resembling a scientific laboratory, reveals a world of passion, precision, and almost alchemical skill required to shape each bell. The film captures not only the technique, but also the spirit a story of dedication, heritage, and the voice of tradition that must not be silenced.
Luka Karlo Kauzlarić
Luka Karlo Kauzlarić was born in Rijeka. He took his first steps in filmmaking during his early elementary school years. His development in documentary filmmaking was a natural progression due to his versatility and pure curiosity (a glimpse into other worlds). The film "Vapori" is his final project for the New School of Documentary Film program, which he attended in 2023. For the short documentary film "Kantrida," which was also created as part of the New School, he received the award for Best Regional Film at last year's LFF.
