ABOUT THE MOVIE

"Autofocus" je kratkometražni dokumentarni film o Crkvi svetog Nikole iz 12. stoljeća, koju svake godine posjete brojni turisti. Smještena je na slikovitom brežuljku, sa stablom bora koje raste pored nje. Kamera svjedoči preobrazbi prostora u svojevrsnu pozornicu na kojoj se izmjenjuju neobični događaji, a u kojima turisti postaju glumci u predstavi.

Boris Poljak

Boris Poljak (Split, Croatia 1959) is one of the most prominent Croatian experimental and documentary filmmakers, an acclaimed cinematographer and director of photography. A long-time member of Split Film Club and one of the initiators of Split Film Festival – an international festival of new film and video. Since 1989, he is a professional DoP filming more than 50 short and feature films, and eight national film awards for best camera. He directed award-winning experimental titles "Beyond" (2003) and "Sky Spirits" (2010), both co-directed by Damir Čučić, and three short documentary experimental films "The Split Watercolour" (2009), "They Just Come and Go" (2107) and "Autofocus" (2013). The latter was awarded as best short film at both Karlovy Vary international film festival and Visions du Reel film festival in Nyon, Switzerland.
